The rules of the road, kept short.

By using Rally, you're agreeing to the terms below. We've tried to write them so they're actually readable.

The short version

Rally is provided as-is, for you and your family to use at home. Treat it kindly, keep your account secure, and we'll keep working to make it better. If you don't like the terms below, please don't use Rally.

Who can use Rally

You must be at least 13 years old (or the digital age of consent in your country — 16 in some places) to create a Rally account. Rally is meant for parents and guardians. Kids don't get accounts of their own.

If you're creating an account on behalf of a household, you confirm you have the authority to do so.

Your account

You're responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure and for what happens on your account. If you share access with a co-parent through an invite, they get full parent-level access to your household's data — pick people you trust.

Rally is meant for personal, family use. Don't use one Rally account on behalf of an unrelated organization or business.

Your family's content

Your missions, your tasks, your rewards, your kids' names — all of that is yours. We don't claim ownership of anything you put into Rally, and we won't use your family's content for anything other than running the app for you.

Acceptable use

Don't use Rally to:

  • break the law or hurt anyone
  • harass, demean, or pressure children (including your own) — Rally is built around effort and encouragement, not punishment
  • try to break, probe, or overload our systems, or get around our security
  • scrape, resell, or build a competing service on top of Rally

We can suspend accounts that violate this in ways we judge to be serious — we'll always try to reach out first if there's time.

The service can change

Rally is a small product that's still evolving. Features come and go. We'll try to give heads-up before removing anything important, but we can't promise any feature will exist forever.

Future paid features

Rally may offer paid features or subscriptions in the future. Pricing and refund terms will be shown at the point of purchase. Anything you buy through the App Store is handled by Apple under their billing terms, including refunds.

On the App Store

When you download Rally from the App Store, Apple's Standard End User License Agreement also applies to your use of the iOS app.

Apple isn't responsible for Rally — we are. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app, and any claims about the app run against us, not Apple.

Cancelling

You can stop using Rally any time. To delete your account and your family's data, open the app and go to Settings → your name → Delete account — or see the Privacy policy for what happens when a co-parent shares your family.

No warranty

Rally is provided “as-is” without warranties of any kind. We try hard to keep it running smoothly and to protect your data, but software is software — outages, bugs, and weird edge cases happen. Don't rely on Rally for anything critical (medical reminders, emergency communication, financial records).

Limits of our liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Rally and the people building it aren't liable for indirect or consequential damages tied to your use of the app. If we're ever found liable for something, our total liability is capped at the amount you've paid us in the past twelve months (which, if Rally is free for you, is zero).

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of [TODO], United States. If we have a dispute, we'll first try to resolve it informally — email us and we'll get back to you within a reasonable time.

If we can't work it out informally, any formal proceedings will take place in the courts located in that jurisdiction.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms in a way that meaningfully affects your use, we'll let you know in the app or by email. Smaller updates get reflected here with the effective date at the bottom.
